Öl/Leinwand. Beim Gebet. Der ungewöhnliche Bildausschnitt zeigt zwei Bauern in einem dunklen Interieur. Vorherrschende Farben sind Braun- und dunkle Rottöne. Das helle, mit kräftiger Pinselführung gearbeitete Hemd kontrastiert mit seinen Faltenwurf. Josef Hengge, ein Allgäuer Maler des Realismus, war Juror im Münchner Glaspalast und eng verbunden mit der bayerischen Königsfamilie. Guter Zustand. Deutschland, 1. Hälfte 20. Jh.
