Öl/Leinwand. Vater und Sohn am Waldrand mit ihren Jagdhunden. Als Professor der Münchner Kunstakademie leitete von Diez diese in Richtung des Kolorismus. Seine Landschafts- und Genremalereien sind geprägt von ihrer Dynamik und Lebendigkeit, welche durch einen flotten Duktus und skizzenhaften Charakter verstärkt werden.
