Diese Szene zeigt einen Reiter mit einem Hund an einem Waldrand. Rechts am Bildrand zeigen sich die Mauern einer Burganlage. Otto Fröhlich lernte in der "Naturklasse" bei Leopold von Kalckreuth und dem Norweger Carl Fritjof Smith und spezialisierte sich auf stimmungsvolle Landschaftsdarstellungen mit einem geringen Anteil von Genreszenen.
