Der Blick des Betrachters fällt auf ein stilles Gewässer, das von herbstlich gefärbten Laubbäumen gesäumt wird. Die hinteren Bäumen verschwinden im Nebel, während die vorderen Bäume, das Unterholz und die Uferränder pastos hervortreten und somit eine große Bildtiefe entstehen lassen.
