Öl/wohl Leinwand, auf Karton aufgezogen. Als Schüler des in Karlsruhe lehrenden Heinrich von Zügel erlernte Kerschensteiner die bedeutendsten Charakteristika detailgetreuer Tiermalerei. Seinen individuellen Fokus legte er hierbei auf die Farbe sowie auf exotische Tiermotive. Rechts unten "jos. Kerschensteiner" signiert. Flächendeckendes Krakelee, ansonsten gute Erhaltung.
